I've also had a further atempt to get the best out of my 1982 video footage of the final mainline steam in Java. The focus is on Madiun for the Sharp Stewart B50 2-4-0s, Cibatu for the CC50 mallets and Rangkasbitung for the Prussian B51 4-4-0s. Certainly not up to modern-day digital standards but totally unrepeatable. As far as I am concerned, the best part is the real, authentic sound recorded as part of the video. This was something that video (from the beginning) did so much better than cine. How many other Indonesian PNKA videos have original sound? Would you like to know what a B50, a CC50 (or a B51 working compound) sounded like?
